Also there are some new apartments under construction downtown called City View Apartments at Southside. If you are interested in those, youd better hurry and reserve a unit because I hear apartments are going fast. There are 3 types of apartments there. But these apartments are literally downtown so you could walk to work.

one bed room studio (around $650 per month)
one bed room (around $850 per month)
two bed room (around $950-$1000+ per month)

There are no more studio units (facing Greensboro's skyline) available. Studio units facing King Street are availible.

amenities:
free internet
clubhouse with resort stlye heated pool
cardio center
cyber cafe
coffee/tea shop
x box/playstation room
billards room
business center
movie/sports room
hardwood floors

here are some photos of City View Apartments. I have a studio apartment reserved. They are not true studio apartments by definition because the bedroom is still a seperate room from the living/kitching area.

clubhouse

I love how the colors of the doors are different on each building (green, gray and tan/peach) a variety of bright and pastel colors are pretty consistant throughout Southside.

Here is the rail yard next to City View. This will be transformed into a park for Southside residents and will also be part of the mile ling linear park that will stretch along the railroad tracks. The park will include a narrow pond that resembles a waterway. It will be great for Southside residents and particularly for families.

the view from the apartments

These apartments are located in the national award winning Southside downtown neighborhood. A block away you will find a wine cafe/restaraunt called the press located in a French Quarter New Orleans stlye building. Live jazz music is played in there Thursday-Saturday nights. Another restaurant next to City View Apartments will be under construction later this year.

Interesting residential dwellings in Southside (This is a very nice downtown neighborhood)

some national awards this downtown district has received

2003 award for Outstanding Planning
2004 EPA Smart Growth Achievement Award
recipient of the 2005 Sierra Club best new project nationwide
