Tailgating Wake football game (Raleigh, Wake Forest: parking, park, schedule)

Haven't been to a Wake football game in years but have some family coming into town and we're going on Saturday.

Would like to tailgate but I have no clue where a proper place to set up would be. We'd have a grill, coolers, possibly keg, etc.

Any advice would be helpful.

FWIW we don't have parking passes and will park off the grounds.

A group of NC State fans (myself included!) are coming to the game at Wake Forest this weekend. I noticed that the Dixie Classic Fair is also going on at the same time. I know how bad traffic can be in Raleigh when a game is scheduled during the State Fair, but will traffic be a nightmare here? Also, we have no parking passes and I saw that general parking is available for $8. Will we be able to find plenty of parking even with the fair going on? How strict are the tailgating rules?
