you're not going to find better schools in greensboro than high point, probably comparable. there is no train in greensboro. if you go to the furniture market you might as well stick with high point because it's cheaper to live in high point as well.

You could just split the difference and consider Jamestown. About halfway between Greensboro and High Point.

City of Jamestown - index

Amtrak in Greensboro - Amtrak - Stations - Greensboro, NC (GRO)

Amtrak in High Point - Amtrak - Stations - High Point, NC (HPT)

Any good reason you can't continue to use motel room while there like everyone else?

Does your work (the other 350 days each year) have anything to do with NC?

It sends chills down High Point city leaders spines to contemplate this, but there's no guarantee the furniture market will always be in High Point. I would not "build my life around it" unless I had other reasons to live in the area.

exactly- i don't get this. if that's the only reason you're moving, don't. just rent a room. or if you're coming with a group of people, pool your money and rent a house. it's how a lot of people here pay for their vacations every year- they rent their houses out for a week and head for the beach. unless you have a job and better reasons to relocate, you might want to rethink moving.

^ I'm pretty sure she's talking about local trains, as in subways or "els".
