We are thinking about retiring to NC and wondering about Greensboro area. (I have a friend there who relocated from NYS several years ago and loves it and might be able to use her home as a temporary base when looking for new home.)
We're in our early/mid 60's, selling a rural property where we've lived for 22 years, but feel we want/need a change -- i.e., lower taxes, milder winters, longer gardening season, fun things for seniors to do, recreational. Looking for an area that has some space between houses (not jammed in), low crime, etc.
Are there particular areas in G'boro to look at? Or avoid?
Are homes in the 150's to high 160's easy to find?
Anything you can share will be helpful. Thanks!
