We expect to move to the Triad area next year. We don't really like big cities , however we do enjoy concerts and restaurants. I quess we are looking for a quiet town that is not too remote. We liked Lexington. Does anybody have any suggestions about where we could look, or any places we should avoid---Thanks

Look at Kernersville and Thomasville too. If you need any info and these places I'll be glad to help.

There is alot of great places to live in Lexington with only a few small sketchy spots.

I think you will be satisfied anywhere in most places in Davidson County.
Alot of homes are not in the city limits if you want to avoid city taxes but have a Lexington address.

I would suggest looking into Twin Acres, Arbor Acres or Queens Road area.
You will have easy access to the interstate, Finch Park, and within fifteen minutes to High Rock Lake.

So many to choose from... Pleasant Garden, anywhere in Brown Summit, Denton/Lexington/Thomasville/Davidson County, Randolph County, kernersville...

Staying outside the city limits is a good idea anywhere to save on taxes.

Lexington is a great area (my hometown) and quickly becoming a bedroom community for Winston Salem.

Good luck in your search- let me know if I can help!

Default go to Davie County

Lexington is depressing imho. A lot of now out of business furniture plants, and not much money. It definitely shows. Mocksville/Davie County is cleaner, less industrial. Low taxes, lot of land, cheap housing and very quiet.

The same can be said for southern Guilford County, Randolph county & Rockingham county. Low taxes, lots of land, beautiful country. And very affordable.
