Burlington developer Tom Holderby has proposed a 360-unit apartment complex for south Greensboro. He has already built about 900 apartments between the Triad and South Carolina.
The site for Woodland Height is near the junction of S. Elm Eugene St. and the Interstate 40/85 loop.
it appear that apartments are not only in high demand downtown, they are in high demand all over the city. The housing crisis of 2008 sparked this and today many people are still having a hard time buying homes. I think the South Elm-Eugene St/I-85 loop junction is going to see a wave of retail development, particularly with all the coming residential development. There is already a Lowes, Walmart and a number of other stores and restaurants at this interchange. I remember a lifestyle village similar to the Shops at Friendly Center was proposed for this interchange. Then the economy tanked in 2008 and it never happened.
