Hello out there,

I am going to be a transplant to either WS or Greensboro in the next 1-2 months and need help on areas to look to rent a house. I know an apartment would be better but I have had TERRIBLE neighbors and really would like a fenced back yard (or any back yard) for the dog. I am in my 30s, I am single. I would love to be near dog parks, or within reach of hiking/camping outdoorsy stuff. I read Greensboro was better for singles hence why I m asking about it as well. Im not a city girl and def more suburban with some space between me and my neighbors (ie no townhouses where we share walls). I used to do lindy-hop so if I can start that again would be great! Im open to country dance as well. I will eventually buy Im sure but no savings for that right now. I will be working at Novant Forsythe if that helps with ideas... i didnt get much time to explore while i was there sadly but overall looked great. Would love a new church (raised baptist but open to other denominations- a good worship team is huge draw for me) where there are ppl around my age would be great too.
Right now im just using google and zillow so any advice is better than none. Im planning another trip out in the next 2 weeks to look at places.

Thanks so much

Since the JOB is in Winston...

Miller Park, Ardmore, Washington Park should have something that'll work well.
I'd suggest that you look for a SHARE situation with another single for the first year
which among a dozen other practicalities will give you time to look more deeply in peace.

Yeah, it's not worth it to live in Greensboro if you work in Winston. I'd say the same if the reverse was true (and have).

Plenty of great little houses for rent in Ardmore, which is the neighborhood between Novant Forsyth and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (most locals call the two hospitals "Forsyth" and "Baptist"). And you can find everything you mentioned in Winston.
