i am in Arizona and thinking about moving to N C are Tenn.and just because we have these question don't mean we not happy with our interracial relationship.because i am very happy with my choice and would never think about change it.but Arizona maybe i do get looked i just never notices it.but i feel if god open up the door for you to move to a place he will protect you.but i have said before it how you carry yourself.
Thank you, Peach49! You said it! where in AZ are you?
Actually, most of us could care less what you do in your personal lives and really don't want to know about it. A privacy thing, you know, altho soooome people might ask.... Anyway, come on!!!!! We need nurses!!!!! and there is a wonderful UNC-Greensboro that has an undergrad/grad/doctoral nursing dept. and a strong arts and education - heck, it's a great public university, And there are other 4-yr colleges and universities and community colleges - you guys will love it (I hope) - and food places and shopping. Cone is a great place to work I'm told and might have some insights on where to look for apts./houses - welcome!!
You know, the amazing thing is - you may actually find MORE tolerance and acceptance here than you would in the northeast! Seriously, the old stereotypes of the south are NOT the norm any longer. People here tend to just live and let live
No doubt about it. Give census.gov a shot and see how "diverse" the north is by percentages.
Wasn't the Woolworth's sit- in in the '60's? And the Greensboro shootout....that was between the Klan and the Communists in about 1984 or '85 right? If that's the one. I don't believe it was racially motivated...both protagonists were Caucasian.
There are a lot of stereotypes about the south up here in the north and I dont want to judge before I see for myself which is wy I am asking these questions. thanx for your responses
Oh, don't worry. Down here, everything is either more or less than the NYPD has shot unarmed black people, so we're even. You won't see much racism outside of the hills of SC, where it's really bad. Don't go to SC. They're all psycho. On racism in NC: don't believe them. They say a lot of things to scare away the yankees, but it's a farce. The Budweiser bottles thrown to the side of the road are there for the same purpose.
I do understand about interracial relationships....I guess I can care less about what others thinks....and I do know how it is growing up a beautiful biracial female....I was just saying do worry about what others think live your life for you.

We do embrace our relationships, but the truth is, to some people we are different and some look down upon this. It's not that we would change for ANYBODY but I darn sure wont be moving somewhere that has a reputation for problems of this nature. It only makes sense to want to feel like we will be accepted. So, your comments, even though not directed at me, seem very illogical and downright hurtful. I mean honestly it would keep ME from moving if it meant my family's happiness and comfort would be in jeopardy........
what about asheville north carolina? are they ok different races?
