The AT&T website wants an actual address to verify availability. I'm looking to find out the area of Greensboro that it is available in so I can house hunt in that specific area.
AT&T hasn't released an availability map and doesn't seem interested in doing so. I don't know what general parts of Greensboro have it, but according to this article in the WS Journal (from the summer), it has been rolled out in parts of the Winston-Salem neighborhoods of Ardmore, Buena Vista, East Winston, Knollwood Manor, Reynolds Park, Reynoldstown and West Highlands.

Thanks tho...
Yeah, they're funny about that for some reason. I even called customer service about u-verse and got the same run around. It's as if they really don't have a plan. I thought you may have had an address.
AT&T is notorious for claiming service in a city for fiber, but only doing it for a few dozen people and never expanding.
Look for North State locations instead.
Can't stand High Point however, before we moved we had NS DSL and the service was very good; dependable 12mbps at $20/mo. If they expand where I'm at I will check them out.

I check their website about once a month (I know that you can sign up to receive notifications but still...) just to see if they have expanded in Oak Ridge. From what I was told, they have no plans, which is disheartening. TWC is about the best option for us, and their service is pretty awful.

Wise move checking the website because in my experience they won't notify you. It was by chance that I checked the website, as you do, and discovered Uverse internet was being offered in my zip code where it previously hadn't been. We were on EarthLink, aka Time Warner, which was the ONLY high speed service at that time. The speed consistency was abysmal, typically running nearly half the advertised connection. I have much more consistency with AT&T for less money.
Want to know the really sad part? I literally live 3 blocks from the main facility downtown.
