I will be starting a job in NC in Spring 08; half time in Siler City and half time in Greensboro. I am not sure which area to pick for hanging my hat or scarf, so wondering if those in each could fill me in on what's hot and what's not for each place. Also, if there is a place in between that you like, I'd love to know about it.
Thanks.

There's not much in Siler City. It's a really small town. You could live in Julian, Climax or Franklinville and be between Greensboro and Siler City.

Thanks. Which of these is best do you think? I don't know any of those towns. I will be coming in April to secure an apartment, and of course, check out the different towns. In my fantasies, Siler City seems like a nice, clean and quiet town, but realistically I've never lived in the country. I don't do that much in terms of night life, but always enjoyed the option of being able to at any time. Wish I knew what is really going to work for me... any taste, opinion, etc. of culture there might help. Thanks.

well if you're going to end up commuting all the time living in the middle, why not just live in greensboro which is the nearest "big city" you may not do nightlife that much but atleast you would have multiple shopping areas.

Thanks, so when I visit what parts of Greensboro are good to live in? I'll be working on Tate Street in that quaint downtown area. I suppose living on the south side would be better towards Siler City. Are there some interesting neighborhoods there? I like safety combined with funky. Any possibility of finding that?
