Also once the loop is complete they will put the I-840 shields on the large overhead directional signs along I-85 and I-40. They already have I-785 on them.

It seems like they would already have I-73 N signs up on the "To Bryan Blvd" exit though.
NCDOT is notorious for taking their time updating the signs.
Its been years since highway construction on Business 85 near the I-73 interchange and they still haven't put back the Greensboro city limit sign they took down due to construction. They need to replace it with a nicer sign that says Welcome to Greensboro. They also need Greensboro city limit signs on the southern I-85 loop since it was annexed into the city. Let people know they are in Greensboro.
Shouldn’t the City be putting up City limits signs?
IIRC, NCDOT has control of the city limit signs on state-maintained roads. However, a city/town could make a request to NCDOT to put up a sign, with the city/town footing the bill for it.
