Winston-Salem Journal | Hospital plans get a 'no' from state (http://www.journalnow.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WSJ%2FMGArticle%2FWSJ_BasicArti cle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173354777788 - broken link)

Erm ... I wonder what Baptist plans to do with the land they've already started to clear at the proposed site (junction of 801 and I-40) I suppose they are confident they will win on appeal.

Forsyth also got a thumb's down on their competing request to build a hospital a few miles down the road in Clemmons.

They said that more information will be released in 5 days. Medical Park said they still plan on relocating to Clemmons. That area of the Triad (Clemmons/Advance) has become a hot spot and lots of people are moving there. They need a hospital and I am sure it is just a matter of time before 1 of them gets approved.

My parents live in Advance and would support either one!

I wear yellow [anyone following the competition between the two sites would know what that means] The 801/40 site could be considered a replacement for the old Mocksville hospital, anyway. And it would give easier access to the people living in the more far flung rural areas. Having to go to a medical center in Clemmons - well, you might as well go a few more miles down the road to WF Baptist of Forsyth. You're going to deal with a snarl of traffic anyway.

The agency making the decision about a hospital at either site worries about a "duplication of services". They should visit this area and note the growth. I view it more as relieving the pressure of a growing population on services that are becoming strained.
