maybe i should have checked this before i moved, but i moved to pfafftown the other day. what do i have to do to transfer my license, car insurance, and vehicle registration? thank you
Welcome to Pfafftown. We bought our home here in June (came from Massachusetts) and love this town.
You will have to get a new title and plates with registration within 30 days of establishing residency, then a new license within 60 days. Our insurance agent helped us a lot.
There is a registry in Rural Hall on Rural Hall Bethania Road, across from the Tru Value Hardware store. It's a tiny place, but efficient. Be prepared to come up with about $400 for the new title.
We went to Yadkinville for our license test, and they were very cordial there. I advise that you NOT go to Patterson Avenue in WS. I couldn't even get anyone there to even talk to me to get a copy of the laws!
My husband and I reviewed the information on this site, and both of us passed easily.
