My family is relocating to the Greensboro area in a few weeks. We have found a wonderful house in the Trinity Lakes neighborhood off of Youngs Mill Rd. very near I-85.
Can anyone tell me about this area? Is it safe? Is it a desireable area to live? Are the schools considered to be good? (Alamance Elementary) It seems to be a growing area and we want to make sure that we don't make the wrong decision.
If anyone happens to live nearby, I'd love to know where to shop. We only found one nearby grocery store and it was a very dirty and run down Food Lion. We are coming from a large suburban city in Florida and are wondering what kind of shock we are in for!

The area in which you are looking is close to the new Urban Loop (I85) but mostly newer homes so there's not a lot of commercial nearby... yet. In a few years there will be plenty. Just off the Loop there's a new Lowe's and other stuff going up around it which may be better than that FL on Alamance Church road (is that the one you mentioned?).

Let me know if I can help.

Alamance Elementary scores well on their school report card. The middle and high schools for that area are Southeast Middle and Southeast High. Neither of which have the best reputation, though not the worst either.
