Greensboro along with Asheville made the top 12 list for best music towns in the country. The city's music culture is a reason the National Folk Festival was held here.
one of twelve "lesser-known" music towns...but still good to see some publicity.
Yeah i think that's fair to clarify. Greensboro's worthy of recognition but the articles not saying it's up there with a Nashville, Memphis, or Detroit etc. Its just saying it's a solid underrated music city. Good article.
I saw. I like Greensboro, but there's just a lot more music happening in the Triangle, IMO. Maybe they just couldn't pick one city out of the Triangle. I don't think we need to compete, though. We can all be proud of the musical heritage of NC. And way to go G-boro's own Rhiannon Giddens, MacArthur Genius Grant!! Whoo-hoo!
North Carolina is just incredibly rich musically in all genres from classical to jazz to bluegrass to country to hip hop to rock and more. I think it would be great if NC would do a music trail for tourism.
