U.S. News analyzed 125 metro areas in the U.S. to find the best places to live based on quality of life and the job market in each metro area, as well as the value of living there and people's desire to live there.

Winston-Salem ranked No. 43, with high scores in desirability and value. Greensboro ranked No. 60, with high scores in value and quality of life.

Other North Carolina cities cracked the top 25 — with Raleigh and Durham ranking No. 13, Charlotte at No. 22 and Asheville at No. 24.

Here are the top five places to live in the U.S.

Austin, Texas
Colorado Springs, Colorado
Denver, Colorado
Des Moines, Iowa
Fayetteville, Arkansas

I still find it so peculiar how they rank Durham and Raleigh together but Winston and Greensboro separately.

I've been saying that for years raliegh/Durham work together to form a major metro Greensboro and Winston work against each other as much as they can lol. It's ridiculous
