Lamborghini Carolinas of Greensboro moved to it's new bigger location in charlotte a couple weeks ago, the owner explained charlotte had more oppertunities for potential super car buyers, seeing as how most sales were either in the Charlotte or Raleigh area, but also said that Foreign cars italia "runs" the Greensboro area. Lamborghini Carolinas opened in 2007 as the first dedicated and certified lamboghini dealer in the Carolinas, the last owner retired, so a new manager took over and made the changes of moving to charlotte.

But not without any plans for the Greensboro location:

In a turn of very good news, ex manager and new manager announced Carolina Exotics to go in it's place at the old Greensboro location.

Carolina Exotics will be a certified premier dealership that specializes in preowned and New Lamborghini and Mclaren models, aswell as various other exotic cars, similar to foreign Cars italia across town that specializes in
Ferrari, maserati, aston martin and porshe, with each being a certified dealer under a "car mall" setting, that's how Carolina Exotics will opperate.
it's set to open sometime in november. The current store is undergoing a massive remodel, although there are talks of an expansion to make the facility bigger down the line. As a avid car enthusiast and someone that was very close with the old manager and staff at Lamborghini Carolinas for over 6 years, i look forward to it's opening in Greensboro.

I always thought where its located in Greensboro is kind of odd where Wendover crosses Battleground. it should have been closer to I-85. But yes the Charlotte office move does make sense. There are more people in that area that will buy that car plus Greensboro already has Foreign Cars Italia which sells all the exotic cars. But at least there will still be a dealership in Greensboro that will still sell them.

High Point still has the only Bentley dealership in the Carolinas though.

It made sense to have high end dealerships here in the Triad due to the proximity to BOTH Charlotte and Raleigh... but yeah it probably makes more sense to simply choose one or the other (it's about an extra hour drive from Charlotte or Raleigh to the other vs either getting to Greensboro.... someone looking to make a $100K+ investment in a car will make that trip).

Right. Or simply have the car shipped. Either way the extra distance for Raleigh folks to Charlotte won’t mean much for somebody able to spend that kind of money on a car.

I stopped by the new Lamborghini Carolinas dealership in Charlotte last month, it's a nice place! Not as big as the FCI store on Tyvola, but still plenty of cool metal in the showroom. This is the first I've heard about Carolina Exotics, are there any news articles out yet? I'm really excited that we're finally going to get a McLaren dealership in NC.

FCI in Charlotte started selling Bentleys about a year back (after Felix Sabates' attempt at a Bentley dealership didn't work out), but High Point is the only stand alone Bentley dealership in the Carolinas. Such an unassuming place, just surrounded by fast food joints away from the interstates in High Point.

You aren't kidding about the unassuming nature of Bentley's location. You drive down Main St and it's like "McDonalds, Sir Pizza, Zaxbys, Bentley dealership, beer store, etc"..... One of these is not like the others.

Actually turned out to be a better deal for Greensboro. Residents in the area will have easier access to even more exotic cars.

i still feel like the wendover location is too small, i know it will never be the same size of the super exotic mall that is foreign cars italia... but they could made a much bigger footprint, it's two stories with decent storage up stairs, but i don't feel thats enough, the location compromised it.

The charlotte location, while not as big as the FCI subdivion store on tyvola, is still much larger than the old greensboro location. Here is how North Carolinas exotic dealership network breaks down, A partnrship between Greensboro and charlotte.

Foreign cars italia(ferrari) (maserati) (aston martin) (porsche):
Is the main hub in Greensboro that serves the entire south east.

Foreign cars italia charlotte (same matques, albeit smaller) is the 2nd and final branch that serves the charlotte metro and parts of south carolina, Georgia etc.

Lamborghini carolinas: was located in greensboro but relocated to charlotte, it's originally from summerfeild, but moved to greensboro in 2007.

Lamborghini Charlotte, is Lamborghini Carolinas rebranded and is specifically a lamborghini dealer that also still sells various preowned cars, it will be connected with the carolina exotics network in greensboro.

Carolina exotics(Lamborghini) (mclaren) and other bespoke rare exotics, will be similar to Foreign Cars Italia, where it sells multiple brands, but yeah, Mclaren is definitely new to NC. Will be connected with the Lamborghini Charlotte network.

Greensboro also has Alfa Romeo which is connected to FCI.

Raleigh has Maserati of raleigh, where you also order a Ferrari and pick it up at FCI in greensboro or have it delivered. It's connected to the network of FCI in greensboro.

Highpoint has Bentley High point, back in the day it used to also sell roys Rolls-Royce. Its standalone.

Winston had lotus before it turned from hummer and now tesla.

It's very interesting, also how FCI pulls so many strings in the background.
