Well I’m the opposite where I just do not like Greensboro at all. Not even it’s name (mostly because it reminds me of NC and I really only prefer Charlotte, Wilmington and sorta Raleigh/Durham)
Wait, what? Why do you not "like" Greensboro? I can see not wanting to live there, I guess, but to objectively not like it? What about it is so objectionable? Its name reminds you of NC? What does that mean? Huh?

I just don’t like Greensboro. I don’t really have an explanation beyond that. But its obviously interesting enough to follow to see what’s going on and there’s enough happening that I like to check in from time to time. I don’t really dwell on why I don’t like a particular place. I think it’s great people love GSO. And they’re great contributors to the forum. They aggregate a lot of information and without them, we wouldn’t really have any updates.

There's only a handful of us that keep everyone informed. For some reason Greensboro residents don't seem to be as excited about development here as in the other major NC cities.

Like most Winston folks they have better sense than to wind up over it all
and some are more concerned about the absolute of growing pains than the future tense wonderfulness of 'growth'.

That has to be partly because there is not enough of it (development) to produce that same perception of excitement. People on City-Data seem to be urban enthusiasts, and skyscrapers are city mascots. Greensboro has added none in 30 years. You can apply that theory to other development types as well (built-environment and economic) - not happening on the same level, even when you account for population differences.
I'm a native, so don't shoot the messenger.
Having moved to Atlanta many years ago, and also a fan of development, I do enjoy the GSO updates. Your posts, specifically, let me know what to go take a look at when I'm "home."
