Any question I have asked before has always been answered on this forum so I am hoping for some help now.

Does anyone know of anyplace where I could take computer classes, such as Microsoft Office or even legal or medical clerical classes? I am looking to change jobs and most clerical ones I have found want experience in Excel and Powerpoint or want legal or medical job experience. Years ago I did clerical but so many things have changed and I would like to catch up on some of the computer advances.. I am in Alamance County so anything close by would be great. Where I lived before the high schools had adult education classes and there were some adult vocational schools. I did some searching here but can't find anything about adult classes.

So any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Talking Ta-Da!

A-ha! I think I may be able to help you. On our recent trip there I found a guide, GTCC, that seems to offer what you are looking for. You know the usual, real estate, photoshop, languages, etc. Well, they have a website (I haven't visited yet) Guilford Technical Community College - Guilford County, NC. Check the Spring 2008 Continuing Education Schedule. That's all I know about. But I'm like you, I love things like this. Everything from krafts to skills to business. I gotta have it in my life. ;D I know it's not *exactly* what you are looking for, but who knows, maybe it is.

I hope this helps!

Angie,

That is exactly what I was looking for. I did a quick check of the website and it seems I've missed the spring classes but I will look into the summer ones. And aside from the computer classes, there were some other interesting classes. Thanks for the info.

Cathy

you can also contact the small business center in greensboro. they have those kinds of classes and they are definitely geared towards folks who are working full time - vs. students.
