Relocating to Greensboro area (High Point, Lexington: apartments, rentals, houses)

Hello,
I am looking to relocate from Orlando, FL within the next 10 months. I've done research, however I am needing some help with recommendations on decent neighborhoods in the Greenboro surrounding areas to rent apartments with a rent range of $500-$700. I'm a single female in my mid 30s, & while I have found cheap rentals I want to make the best choice based on safety/budget/complex. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks again!

I'm not 100% up to date on the current rental situation in G'boro, but I do have have some knowledge, and I think you're going to have a very hard time finding anything decent and safe in that price range.

You might want to post the names/addresses of what you've found so far and let us give you our opinions.

I think $700ish is doable for a 1 bed 1 bath apartment. Definitely won't find anything safe or "decent" at $500 though.

I live in the Garden Homes section of NW Greensboro. It's an older neighborhood with small houses built in the 50s. If you can up your budget you might be able to find a rental home here.

I agree with Teach. Post what you've seen and we can make specifics recs.

I've lived in several 1 BR 1 BA apartments in the Fisher Park area for that price range. Check out Stonebridge resources as a rental company. They rent a bunch of converted buildings in Fisher Park/Westerwood for that price.

That would be my choice if I were apartment looking.

I agree. Anything below $700 will probably not be a decent dwelling and would likely be in an unsafe area of town. Most "decent affordable" apartments will be in the $700-$800 a month range.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. After my ongoing research ive found that I'll need to increase my budget slightly. Im not too picky but safety & the overall condition of the property is more important than anything else. Sorry about the overload.
