Yep, news about it came out in August. It kind of flew under the radar.

Would be nice if Wawa would expand from Virginia down into the Triangle and the Triad. Very nice clean store, good fresh food. But they won't go closer to Charlotte where QuikTrip has a strong presence, as they mutually exclude themselves from each others territory. And a big gamechanger will be Bucc-ee's expanding from Texas to Orange County near the I-85/I40 split.

Wawa largely does the same thing with Sheetz though. So I don't see Wawa coming to the Triad. Maybe they'll blend borders in the Triangle similar to how Wawa and Sheetz do in Richmond.

A 7-11 is going up at the corner of Church and Cornwallis, right across the street from the Exxon.

A 7-11 is being built in Burlington, at the corner of Maple and Chapel Hill Road. Used to be the site of a Rite Aid.

Not sure which is which, but it appears one is under construction at 2571 Maple and another at 2127 Chapel Hill... both in Burlington.

The one I drove by was the Chapel Hill road location, though it fronts on Maple as well. I guess they wanted both sides of the Interstate covered... they are only about 2 blocks apart.

The one on the corner of Cornwallis and Church has finally opened up. Per Google, its open 24 hours. It should do quite well.
