Hello all thinking abut moving to Rural hall. I will defintely like to put up a gate and a pond wherever I go. My goal is to buy some land and get a Modular Home. Do any one have any insights, Is it possible to stray away from HOAs i see alot of community homes, are the HOAs strict in the area? Is Rural Hall a small town type enviorment? How is the HIgh School System? Are modular homes allowed in most place? Any information is greatly appreciated

Rural Hall is basically part of the northside of W-S. Are you familiar with it? Is there a reason you are interested in moving there?

How much land do you want? How much do you want to pay for it? HOAs only exist in platted subdivisions, so it shouldn't be too difficult to buy a few acres that isn't in a subdivision. You'll have to have a well and septic system installed if there's no public utilities.

Here's a 3 acre lot that doesn't appear to have an HOA and has public water and sewer:

I am not sure whether you are expecting a "rural" environment. From the street views, Rural Hall looks more like a suburb. It even has 4-lane divided highways. Even the 3 acre plot above is close to a school and shopping.

Most of North Carolina is friendly towards manufactured and modular homes. Many are manufactured in the state.
