Shame that we will have to wait until Fall 2024 for it to open, but glad another one is eventually coming into the city. I know the location, but wondering if they are gonna tear down buildings to put this one up.

Hard to tell, I'd have to see the site plan. Great that its coming to midtown instead of typical shopping center near the edge of town like the first one.

The second picture seems to show the WoB building still standing, though the one next to it may not stick around.
Two and a half years is a long time to wait for a grocery store though.

I was wondering where this Publix would be built. I thought maybe around the North Elm/Pisgah Church area. The ones in Winston, High Point, and Burlington are all located firmly in the city.

Yes, demolition is planned for Osteria and Saffton along Mill Street.
A multi-level store location takes longer to build. That could partly contribute to the 2024 opening. Another contribution could be Publix's Distribution and Logistics operation is at capacity. Greensboro Distribution is scheduled to open later this year.
Marty Kotis is another one who presents grand ideas but will take a decade to implement them. Honestly I wish developers wouldn't say anything until they are within a year or so of building something. Kotis still hasn't done anything with the property he owns in the southern end of downtown. Its unreal. There is a lot of demand for a lot of things to happen downtown yet everything seems to happen here at a snails pace.
