Usually when I visit downtown, I’d always see a Jimmy John’s delivery guy on his bike. You’d think he was in NYC the way he maneuvered lol … I haven’t seen him, or any DT, JJs bike delivery guys in quite some time now. Hmmmm….

I’ll give downtown GSO credit, and this is kinda symbolic of the city as whole, but there really is no rhyme or reason to the “type” people you see downtown. It’s so random and pleasantly diverse.

You’ll see people who appear to be college students, women near retirement age with pink dyed hair, goths/emo, black and white younger “hip-hop” types, a few suits, folks who are disabled and homeless, laborers, cross dressers, a few yuppies, a few soccer moms, a few ritzier, old money looking types … it just runs the gamut.

I’ll also say, there appears to be a pretty heavy undercover law enforcement presence (local, state and fed) in and around downtown, so behave yourselves! Lol

Like the Triad as a whole. Lots of suburban and rural areas to live. Cities in the Triad have great restaurants, sports, and entertainment. Lots of higher education, parks, kid friemdly activities, and educational activities to do.

Would be nice if both downtowns were more walkable with restaurants/outdoor eating options and more local businesses.

I think the hardest workers among all the employees working in and around government square in downtown GSO are by far the leaf blowers. Everytime I’m down there, they’re blowing leaves or blowing something… even if there aren’t hardly any leaves on the ground.

Quick rant but can Guilford County not support another Costco ?!!! It’s literally a madhouse in there 80 percent of the time. Until I’m able to grow more of my own food, it’s still the best bang for your buck if feeding many mouths.

But dammit! It’s just ridiculous the state’s so called “third city” in the state’s third most populous county cant get another Costco.

And people, please, just KEEP IT MOVING when you’re in there. I don’t understand the joy in leisurely browsing, picking up and inspecting and touching items you don’t intend to buy, holding up traffic … cmon people! Cmon!

Sorry … just had to get that off …
