Drove by the Star Bucks site downtown yesterday.looks like they are building it from scratch and not using anything of the old Hardee's building! I really wish that site well and hope it doesn't turn into a homeless shelter like the former Hardee's started looking like . I hope they have a outside seating area where a person can sit and actually enjoy sipping their coffee and relaxing. Its nice to see a chain coming to downtown aera! Side note, it's sad what happened to Deep Roots the other day, never would I have thought something like that would happen to them

It looked to me like they did use a lot of the Hardee's structure, they just built out a broader overhang on the roof. Where Hardee's was slanted, the Starbucks will be more of a vertical rectangle, if that makes sense.

By ”downtown” I assume you are talking about a location bounded by West Market to the south, West Friendly to the south, between Spring and Edgeworth. On the same block the Firestone Car Care Center.
When someone says”downtown,” I immediately think the Elm Street area.

Technically Downtown starts at Spring Street so this location is, in fact, Downtown. I do wish it felt more like downtown, though.

The west/central and west/south part of downtown really needs a face-lift. Those are also the least pedestrian friendly parts of downtown with multilane one way streets

Apparently the Starbucks in question is at 500 West Market, and opened for business in mid-September 2023. Open 5:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. (except Saturday & Sunday, when it opens at 6:00 a.m.). https://www.starbucks.com/store-loca...c-274012208-us
