In W-S I'd suggest Buena Vista....close to everything you mentioned. Classic, traditional homes with beautiful mature trees on the lots, probably very similar to the upscale suburbs in NJ...homes range from 300k (fixer upper, small cottages) to 2 million (1930's Georgian mansions)...check out Arbor Rd, Roslyn Rd, and Oaklawn Ave, as well as Buena Vista Rd. Look on realtor.com and type in zip codes 27104 and 27106... the results should list the neighborhood name. This neighborhood has people from all over- you will feel welcomed.

Go with Prudential Realty (highly recommend Olivia Kleinmaier) or Leonard Ryden Burr as they deal with 95% of the properties for sale in this area. Good luck!

P.S. most of the homes in your price range will be updated with nice amenities like plantation shutters, hardwoods, granite, stainless....older homes have good bones!

surprised no one has mentioned Brookberry Farm yet. Massive new subdivision off Meadowlark in western W-S, though avg price is bit higher than the $550k suggestion. 550 is within the range there.

www.brookberryfarm.com

p.s. I must be a former neighbor of Kooter. New Sherwood is an excellent suggestion.

I'd love to know what areas of Belews lake you really like. High end lake homes from 600-1M with good schools.

Did you notice the date of the thread you area replying to?

Most of Belews Lake is in Rockingham County, and the schools aren't very good.

You'd be better off if you start your own thread. If you have to be in vicinity of Belews Lake, include that in the title of your thread.
