Please help! I have relocated to Winston from Memphis, TN. I moved in the Stratford of Hillcrest Town Center thinking that my 3rd grader was going to go to Ward Elementary. When I got here, I found out that the district is Bolton. Does anyone have any information on what kind of school Bolton is? I saw some of the NC school websites, but would like to know more.

Also, has anyone had any experience with Windsor Homes? I am considering purchasing a home with them in the same subdivision.

I would appreciate any feedback..

You could look it up on Greatschools.com, I've been using that for a year while trying to find a place to live.

I just bought a khovnanian home (to be built) in Clemmons, I don't know about Windsor homes.
To find out for sure what school district you belong to call either the library or the elementary school they have maps and could tell you, you will need a street address. I didn't trust anyone not even the builder to tell me what schools their neighborhoods belonged to.

I recommend requesting this great website from your realtor that allows you to locate the schools in Forsyth county. I had it forwarded to me when I was looking and I could pop in the address of houses I was interested in, then I would research the school on greatschools.net and www.ncreportcards.org. I can't remember the website now, but it also had tax information on it. Another thing to consider is if you can provide the transportation, you are allowed to attend 3 schools if you aren't happy with the one directly in your zone. The closest one will have the bus service, otherwise you are not stuck to just that one school. I am not really how sure it all works (my child isn't school aged yet) but according to my teacher friend it is only an issue being near a bad school if you have to rely on the bus system.
