We are moving to Greensboro from MI. My wife has networking experience. But when we look over the website for network engineer, most of it are in Durham, would Greensboro has any opportunities for her?
Any guidance in the bad economic enviroment like this?
I wish I had better news, but I know two guys who are network engineers (I know there are MANY layers of specialties within that title), but anyways they were laid off back in November and have had only a handful of interviews and no offers since then. The opportunities are not very plentiful and there is a lot of competition for them. I'd recommend your wife start sending out resumes now. Good luck.
The commute to Durham from here is around 45 mins depending on where you live. So it isn't crazy to think that you could be in Guilford County and go to Durham to work. Buying here would be cheaper, but if you commuted to work, you would definitely have more options for employment.
Good luck!
