Wedding Coordinator (Charlotte, Greensboro, Jacksonville: hotel, buying a house, weddings)

I am getting married in Greensboro NC in May of 2010 and I am looking for a day of wedding coordinator. I have checked out a few of the main coordinators in the area and I cannot see myself paying $1000.00 for someone to direct the wedding party where to stand! Any suggestions or referrals? References would also be greatly appreciated!

If you're only needing someone to tell each person when to start walking down the aisle and where to stand during the practice you might not have to have one. I went with a distant cousin, she did it as a 'gift' for us. I'm sure you've got a aunt or friend of the family that would love to do it for you... save the money for the honeymoon, buying a house, or the 'rainy day' fund!
