Are there any affordable rural areas around WS? Say an area where you could buy a house on 3 or more acres for somewhere close to 200k??

Davidson or Davie County.

We have a modular home (2000 sf) on a little over an acre for $130K. (for sale by the way!)

I think you could draw a ring around WS about 15 miles out, and in just about any direction you could find something to fit the bill, with the possible exception of Kernersville (due to its location being between WS and Greensboro). Places like Walnut Cove, Germantown, King, East Bend, Welcome, Mocksville, etc. are still pretty rural for the most part.
