My family and I currently live in Western NC, on a small farm we own. We've been here for 4 years, originally from the midwest. And while we love the scenery, we all feel the need to be closer to a larger city, with more social options. We've worked in and visited Greensboro many times, and everyone agrees that it suits us better than where we currently live. When we first came here, we thought the country/mountains were beautiful, (and still do), but we are ready to move on, and want more than this area has to offer.
We plan to buy land and build eventually. But, while our home here is for sale, and we are getting familiar to the Triad area, we plan to rent. We would like to be outside the city, on an acre plus, as gardening is really important to me.
My questions are...
Is it easy to find a nice rental house in a safe rural area of Greensboro? We plan to rent 1-2 years while we are learning about the area, finding land, building.
My son plays baseball, both rec and travel. His only requirement for moving is that there are options for him to continue playing. So, if anyone knows something about youth baseball in the area, I'd love some insight.
We want to live in an area with a nice farmers market and or local grown food options..can anyone tell me about the markets in the Greenboro area?
Yes- there are many rental options in town. Check Craigslist first!
Parks and Rec in Greensboro has a great baseball program. So he should be covered. Haven't been involved in a long time but other parents I know seem to like it.
Thank you, I will! I'll check out the markets. We're going to start looking for a rental around March.
