Going to Tyler Perry's play tonight. Ticket was only $56.50...but Ticketmaster added fees that brought it up to $72. OUCH. And it was my paper and ink for the ticket!
Those "convenience fees" are a little disproportionate, at least they don't sneak them in or build them inside the price of the ticket. It's as if they have absolutely no fear of everybody getting pissed off and going directly to the box office.
Vegas...don't feel like you're exclusive. Those fees are pretty standard these days across the board. Here in Charlotte, sometimes it can cost $10 to park in a deck after 6PM to attend an event. Two years ago, I attended Wake's game against UNC-Charlotte, and by the time I had purchased the game ticket, parked, and bought food at Time Warner Cable Arena, I had coughed up over $100.
Yeah Ticketmaster/Live Nation (same company, just changed the name due to the sheer hated Ticketmaster's name brings) have gotten ridiculous in their price gouging.
As long as people show up to these things, they're just going to continue it though.
At Greensboro you can tell the importance of the event by how much they charge for parking.
