I was talking with someone who works at the airport last week. The word they were getting was February or at the latest, April. That means we have heard rumors of February, March April and May. Covers a lot of time, but at least they are still saying they are coming here!
That is great - the sooner the better, but I just want to know when we'll know the start date & routes flown...
Southwest Airlines next Wednesday is expected to announce destinations and flight times for service from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport that should begin next year.
The airline earlier this year said it would begin its first South Carolina service with flights from GSP and Charleston, but didn’t disclose any destinations.
The move is expected to spark airfare competition among airlines at GSP, which has had among the highest fares in the nation.

My opinion is that the Florida destination will be Orlando - no-brainer. Maybe Tampa, but I'm not convinced of Jacksonville (except it would probably be part of a multi-segment flight to include other larger "destination" cities).

I actually could see Jacksonville only because it's the only city that they serve, which Allegiant doesn't. I would rather them not bury Allegiant, since it's nice to have options. Guess we'll find out soon enough though.
