How come awesome stuff like this doesn't happen everyday downtown?
A crowd gathered at the entrance to Falls Park today as authorities strapped a screaming woman to a gurney and took her away in an ambulance.
Witnesses said that the woman had stripped naked on Main Street and that authorities tackled her. She was covered with a sheet as emergency medical workers wheeled her to an ambulance.
The woman was screaming, “The father, the son, the holy ghost” and “thank you, Jesus,” but much of what she said was unintelligible.
More than a dozen Greenville police officers and Greenville County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, filling the street with flashing blue lights shortly before 11 a.m.
Glenn Rhinehart of Greenville said he was taking a walk when he saw the overwhelming police presence.
