Remember, you'll still be able to get connecting flights to/from the Northeast & New England from BWI (and probably Nashville & Chicago too).

have you ever flown out of Greenville? the flights are generally more expensive than out of other airports(CLT, ATL) so a ton of flights will be way cheaper than what people pay now when SW comes.

I've only flown out of Greenville when my Delta flight made an emergency landing there a couple of years ago. Yes most definitely you will see a drop in fares when SW starts flights. Some much needed competition is always good and generally benefits the flying public.

That's called 'The Southwest Effect'; an increase in service, and a decrease in fares.

It'll surely give you folks some relief from those airfares to/from Charlotte.

Will have to wait and see what they offer for the New England area. In a perfect world, if Jet Blue would come to AVL or even GSP, and had non stops to New England that would be awesome. Best to avoid connections wherever possible.

Unfortunately that is very unlikely to ever happen.

Quite a bold statement there. I bet you said the same thing about Southwest coming to GSP too.

That would be great. Unfortunately, most of my family does not want to have to deal with connections when flying down from Boston or Providence so as of now, I am stuck driving to Charlotte (eventhough I am 10 min. from GSP)

What does your family have against connections--they've been a staple of the industry for decades for everybody except Southwest.

When my mother or MIL is traveling alone, she doesn't like having to worry about connecting flights. I can't blame either of them.
