Hey everyone, this is my first post on this website. I am hoping to get a little bit of information about moving to south carolina. My boyfriend and I are currently living in Girard, OH which is right by Yougstown. He just graduated with his graphic design degree and I am continuing school for my education degree. We have been looking for jobs for him but it has been difficult because many businesses want someone with at least 5 years of experience. Some friends of ours moved to Charlotte, NC after they got married and love it, therefore we have been thinking about also moving down, however we would rather go to South Carolina, preferably the northern area.

Does anyone have any suggestion about good towns to move to and find a good job? Or any ideas of places that are looking to hire graphic designers? We would prefer not to live in the city and would like to move somewhere that is a really nice place to raise a family since that is in our eventual future.

Any tips or insights would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Rachel

Look at the Cryovac Division of Sealed Air Corp. They have a large graphics department in Simpsonville. Plant there is 32 acres under roof and prints 3 types of plastics for end consumer use.

There is also one large (Erwin-Penland) and several smaller advertising agencies in Greenville. Could be a place to look! Good luck!
