I just moved to Greenville and am currently living in an Apartment downtown, my boat is in storage down in Anderson still. I plan to move in the next year and purchase a home in downtown Greenville. Ideally this home will need some work, be cheap, and located walking distance to main street activities. Specifically I am looking at some in the North Main area, and some down by Fluor Field.
Does the city allow you to park your boat at your home? Any specific regulations? Most of these places don't have garages so it would have to be in the driveway or on the side of the house.

What price home are you looking for? My dad has a house that he has not put on the market yet but he built a large garage workshop with boat storage on the side and an apartment attached to the garage. The main house has 1600 square feet on the main level and upstairs has been turned into 3 efficiency apartments. It's the house my dad grew up in and he's planning on putting it on the market sometime in the next year. It is very well built and could be converted back to a single family house if the right person is willing to put in the necessary time and money. Right now the downstairs is vacant so my dad has been thinking about selling it. He doesn't live there but built the apartment onto the garage so he would have a place to clean up and eat while he was there working. It's 3 blocks off of North Main in the East Park Historic District near the Greenville Woman's Club.
It will probably be neighborhood specific. Make sure to find out any restrictions before purchasing.
