Maloney said expansion to other destinations is anticipated "in the coming months."
Additional flights from GSP are on the horizon, according to the airport's Vice President of Communications Rosylin Weston.
"We are always working to bring new service to the airport, whether that means new airlines or current airlines expanding their services," Weston said.

He considered us one of the primary, larger markets out of the bunch. The 717's will be used on secondary, smaller markets with shorthaul flights.

Nice to hear! That's interesting about the aircraft types Southwest plans to use here post-Airtran acquisition. I really would have thought GSP would at least see some flights on the 717s.
I've noticed those Bahamasair flights a couple times the past couple of weeks! What's that all about anyway? I monitor flightaware.com regularly, and have seen a couple of these flights.

Could be wrong but it looked like spring break going off the amount of college students who got off. It landed around 10pm. Delta(erj-regional), Southwest(737), and Bahamasair(737-only two in the entire fleet) all landed within 1-2 minutes of each other. Never seen that many commercial airplanes land at GSP in that short period of time. Pretty cool.
Bahamasair tail behind Delta...dang it Delta...you blockin my view:
Bahamasair wasn't the only thing I saw. Hello Shamu....welcome to GSP:
Interesting. So have the flights to the Bahamas been chartered, or are they commercial flights that the general public could have purchased tickets for?
I would have thought "diversion" at first, but when I saw multiple Bahamasair flights coming/going, a pattern began to emerge. Could very well be Spring Break-related charters. I remember in Birmingham years ago, a large travel agency chartered a DL 767 for skiing charters out West in the Spring.
