Friar's Tavern, with one successful location already in Clemson, is planning to open in the former Italian Market space on Woods Lake Road across from Barnes & Noble. Goes to the city's Board of Zoning Appeals for approval on August 19th.

Hopefully Friar's Tavern is moving. I feel it's food is subpar, it's management is shoddy at best and it's live music leaves something else to be desired. It was bad as Flip Flops and worse as Friar's Tavern. At least Flip Flops had better bands.
I think Friars must have changed their mind. Someone reported on another thread they were going on Woodruff Road. I agree about Italian Market. They had two locations Greenville and Knoxville. I am not sure if the Knoxville location closed.
Why did Italian market close down? I used to love that place and thought the food was great as did a lot of people I knew.

If cleanliness slips, there is something wrong in both service and management. Those are bad ingredients to a restaurant's closure.
