I am looking to relocate to Greenville area (we live in Fort Mill, son in law just got a job in Fountain Inn) - right now Travelers Rest / Greer and northward looks like good area.

How far out are people getting stellar internet service. I telecommute, have comprium in Fort Mill and have too much jitter to give good support to VOIP. Being able to run phone, fax and work on computer is critical. No problems with regular internet, packet dropping, and speed but signal quality very important.

Are these areas pretty good, and if so how far out do people get good service? How about cell phone companies? I have Verizon but I will drop them at next contract because they are awful and have not resolved our issues with weak signal strength.

My daughter and her family relocated from Mauldin to Traveler's Rest. There new home is in a new subdivision that is still building homes. They attempted to get Charter (local cable) and were told for three weeks they would get a tech out there to see if they could get cable and internet service. Finally the kids gave up and went with dish TV and Bell South DSL. All set up in a faction of the time it took to just "discuss" situation with Charter. They seem pleased. Good Luck.

Same here. I'm near 290 and 25 and went circles with Charter. Don't bother calling them, you're asking for headaches. In the end, I got DSL 6meg service and it is very steady. I, too, telecommute, and find this is doing the trick well.

I second that Charter sucks majorly bad and their customer service is even worse and they are way over priced for what they provide.
