We are moving at the end of the month, will be renting, and are a little concerned about schools. I hear Greenville has good schools, but not all are great so I would like local input. A lot of the homes we have seen that are affordable seem to be in the Bonnie Brae area, and I have heard mixed reviews about the area. It also seems like even if you live in Mauldin, Greer, etc., you might still be zoned for Greenville? I don't really look at test scores, I am more interested in hearing personal experiences. I have an 11 yr old with high functioning asperger's, and he is able to be fully integrated with regular classes so he doesn't require special schooling, just a school with a good special ed program and options other than sports, such as music, arts, theater, and other things he could excel in. Thanks for any and all input.

Don't have kids, so not an expert on this subject, but one thing to note......Greenville, Mauldin, Greer, etc do not have separate city "school districts". All schools in Greenville County are simply Greenville County Schools. That is a bit different than other states I've lived in and I know it sometimes confuses people.

Interesting. So this means they all have the same curriculum, administrators, policies, and basic structure?

I would assume, unless it is a specialized school, such as a magnet school.
