Thanks for sharing. The "sports store" that the host asks about was a Chick-fil-A (formerly a blue jeans store, but then Chick-fil-A expanded). Wonder if there is a video about Bell Tower Mall.
Yeah.. He has an entire series on Dead Malls.. Some of them are rather interesting... But after about the 5th one you watch, it kinda gets repetitive.
I'll also recommend The Carpetbagger.. If you can get past the mutton chops.. He has some good videos on abandoned and interesting places, often involving the southeast.
He did a video of Ghost Town.. Actually, has done a couple of them.
That McAlister Mall, no matter the few times I went inside, was creepy and silent. I found myself looking over my shoulder when I used the restroom... There was just no-one around. Yes, they have the university offices but the place reminds me of nuclear bomb attack, where nobody survived.
Wannalive, As a 7 year old in 1968 I thought Macalister Square was the cats A$$.It seemed so modern and exciting. The shopping along Main Street was worn out, old and creepy.Wow how things change.
I think after the mall was closed and before it became an university there was a short time when it was leased out in the evenings as a wedding / reception venue. I remember going to one wedding reception there and the place was eerie. Only the main area as soon as you enter was used for the reception.
