I love Guy's show on all these awesome hidden gems of restaurants around the country. I saw an episode last week about the Tattooed Moose in Charleston and got me wondering if there are any places with awesome food that would fit his show.

Requirements? Upstate! I'd love to find some.

Places that I've eaten that I think fit some of these requirements are:
  • Tommy's Ham House - sweet potato pancakes! awesome.
  • Southern Thyme Cafe (Greer) - excellent omelets and such!
  • The Beacon - pure grease babeee!

Any others?

Not only has he been to The Beacon he has had the order taker, JT I think, on a special show. He has also been to a little place in Gaffney where he ate Pinto Beans and Fried Fat Back.

Moving on.... That burger place in Clemson (maybe just outside of Clemson) whose owner died a year or two ago would have been a great candidate, but 1) I don't remember the name and 2) have no idea if it's still open now. I just remember a big deal being made in the local media when the owner died & that it was known as a local institution.

There's always the Northgate Soda Shop on N. Main or Pickwick Soda Fountain...

Mac's Drive In. Mac actually sold it years ago to Ted, one of his employees, but still worked there.

Yeah, I've been to that one and it was great! But BGR is a chain, isn't it?
