What are the options for garbage pick-up and recycling in Greenville? I see people on my street with municipal looking trash cans but I don't see anything about waste removal on the county website. I should have thought to ask some neighbors who came by with muffins today to welcome me to the neighborhood but didn't think of it.

Do you live in the city of Greenville? Greenville county? Or other cities/towns in Greenville county (Mauldin, Simpsonville, etc)?

I live in the city of Greenville I guess. My address is Greenville, not Taylors or any other town. It is the 29615 zip code.

Go online and look at the tax bill for your property. If City of Greenville charges you then you are in the city. If you are in the city just keep an eye on your neighbors and put your can out when they do, or go ask someone.

I'm not entirely sure you live within the city limits of Greenville.

Here are the Greenville city limit boundaries from Google Maps. If you within these boundaries, the city of Greenville offers great trash, recycling, and yard waste services. Call (864) 476-4345 to establish trash collection. See their FAQ website for other questions.

Note that some areas of the Upstate use private trash services. When I lived in Simpsonville, I had to use just such a service (I believe it was O'neal).

I think you might be right. It seems my zipcode may include parts both inside and outside the city limits according to that Google map you provided. How strange. Oh well. Guess I'll ask a neighbor.

I live in the 29615 zip code, have a Greenville mailing address, and am in the county. Our development uses Waste Management for regular trash collection, and I take my recyclables to the bins in front of Earth Fare on Pelham.
