Can someone confirm if WYFF reporter John Eby has left? I think I saw him on a different station today.

Default WLOS13 to improve reception

WLOS now has a construction permit from the FCC to put a translator signal on Paris Mtn which should improve reception of Channel 13 in Upstate SC. It will be on RF31. And at night, you can often receive WSOC Channel 9 from Charlotte which is also ABC, and has overall better news and programming. And WBTV Channel 3 from Charlotte has a very strong signal here both day and night if you have an outside antenna. I mainly watch WYFF4, WSPA7, and WBTV3. Not a fan of the infotainment and happy talk masquerading as news on WHNS21 Fox Carolina, with the poor standard definition video quality.

WBTV reception in Spartanburg County is good. WLOS digital subchannels 13.1 and 13.2 are difficult to receive, but subchannels 13.3, 13.4 and 13.5 work well as they come in standard reception.

Yes, WBTV has a very strong signal, even in Greenville County where I receive it at 100%. Better than Asheville.

WSPA has added a fourth meteorologist, Malachi Rodgers. He is listed for weekday mornings and noon newscasts, taking over for Meteorologist Dan Bickford.

I am unaware Bickford is leaving WSPA. Bickford has been doing weeknight forecasts, rotating with Chief Meteorologist Christy Henderson. I wonder if WSPA will be using two meteorologists for weeknight newscasts, and if additional weeknight newscasts at 4:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:30pm and/or 10:30pm are around the corner.

WMYA has dropped its Cool TV affiliation, leaving digital subchannel 40.2 blank, per reports.

Sinclair dropped Cool TV from all of its stations nationwide due to a contract dispute over payments. 40.2 is blank until future programming. Some are speculating perhaps Antenna TV, a retro channel currently carried on WJZY 46.2 from Charlotte, but nothing has been announced so far.

Something like My TV (and like what Nick at Nite started as)?

Antenna TV shows reruns of old sitcoms such as All in the Family, Sanford and Son, and 3's Company. Also, Maude, Good Times, WKRP. Me TV is another retro channel carried on WSPA 7.2 .

Are there any networks similar to The Cool TV for rock music? I do not mind country music programming, buy many of us grew up on music videos from the 1980s.

As for retro television programming, the market does well with This TV and MeTV. I would not mind something different such as a local weather channel, which WYFF and WSPA previously had successfully.
