My husband and I are seriously considering moving to the Powdersville area and I have a few questions. We spent the summer in SC and took two trips to the area and are very much in love with Greenville. We liked the idea of being just a little out from the city and we just happened upon Powdersville. We checked out the Wren school system and were very impressed. I am interested in how people from NE are viewed when moving south. I am a little nervous about making new friends if we are looked as outsiders. I am also wondering if moving to a new subdivision verses one about 10-20yr older would have any impact on this. Please let me know if you have any input.
Thanks

lol, I think if you search a bit you'll find this question is asked almost daily being a recent Northeasterner(rochester, NY) can answer your question very easily. I have not once experienced any animosity towards transplants from anywhere, northern or otherwise. To be honest, I have a hard time finding anyone who actually grew up here! I find on a regular basis that people are friendly and talkative, even at places where i've never struck up conversations, like in grocery stores, malls, anywhere people will just come up and start talking to you like they've known you for years! anyway someone may disagree with me but i've never experienced any "yankee" discrimination, thats just my 2 cents if ya wanna make a friend when you move down here gimme a call, lol

I agree. There are so many of us transplants here, who knows where everyone is from. It doesn't really matter in most of the Greenville area. Everyone here is very welcoming.

awesome, I aim to please (well actually I aim to be truthful, but you get it) oh and also I live near Powdersville, its a nice rural area in my opinion, and close enough to Greenville that you don't feel too isolated from the world(I actually live on the border of Anderson and Greenville county)
