Very nice! I'm thinking about trying to get my son into the new Middle School going up by ICAR.

If you read the linked blurb, this rating is based solely on number is AP/IB tests taken per student. While that may be one factor to consider it's crazy to make that the only factor.

Actually, if you read the information on the actual site, it's somewhat worse than that. They exclude any school where the average SAT score exceeds 2000, so the actual "best" schools can't be on the list. For example, the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics isn't eligible to be ranked among the "best" in the state. The survey also intentionally disregards the results of the tests. So a school where 50 students take the AP Calculus exam and score a 1 or 2 (failing grades from an AP perspective), would be ranked twice as high as a school where 25 students took the exam and scored a 5 (highest AP score). It also only counts graduating seniors, so if half the senior class doesn't graduate the school would score twice as well.

I recall Southside High School being the only school in the School District of Greenville County to offer an International Baccalaureate program. This is the most rigorous level above honors and AP.

The IB program has expanded to other schools including elementary and middle school levels.
