I may be getting a dog soon, and so I will need a veterinarian sooner or later. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced basic vet in the Travelers Rest area? Thanks!

When I lived in Greenville we used Poinsett Animal Hospital on Poinsett hwy near Cherrydale, I never felt pressured into spending lots of money like some vets do, and I felt like the staff cared about my dogs. I used to board them there too! I know this isn't in TR, but its fairly close I think?

Cleveland Park has a branch right in TR. I've heard nothing but good things about them and while I haven't used them yet, plan to soon.

I can't find Cleveland Park in TR; only in Greenville. Where is it? I spoke to All About Pets, which is the only vet I could find in TR. They sound good over the phone, but I think I'll actually visit some vets and see which one appeals to me. I'm also going to be checking fees, as money is a factor. In FL, there are a lot of 'boutique' vets that charge astonishing rates for care.

Here's the web site for Cleveland Park - Travelers Rest. I used them when I had a horse stabled near TR, but I haven't used them for pets. I have no idea how they compare with others cost-wise, but is an excellent vet practice for any size animal.

I would highly recommend Poinsett Vet. I've had pets and vets all my life, and the folks at Poinsett are awesome (and worth any drive you have to make).

I am actually driving up to All About Pets in TR from Simpsonville. There is a holistic vet there who does acupuncture etc. (which is why I am going) But that is a different way of looking at vet med. I am impressed by how low frills they are and find them to be reasonable.
