We are new to the area and will have a freshman next year. We have been told that this is a great school.

Can anyone tell me more about the school? The admission process? Any opinions on how a child with a learning disability would do?

Thanks!

It's at the Greer Campus. Although the facilities are a bit spartan (they use trailers), we have heard nothing but great things.

No, I believe it's on the the main Greenville Tech campus off S. Pleasantburg - see the school website:
Greenville Techical Charter High School

About this school

This school only enrolls 100 freshman/year - on a lottery basis - see their admission process.

I live about a mile from the main campus of Greenville Tech and have never seen any trailers there (although I may be wrong).

Interesting, I can't find anything re this school on the main Greenville County Schools website.

I had heard there were actually three locations??? One in Greenville, one in Simpsonville and I thinkt he other in Greer. But as I said we are new to the area and not familiar with all the towns yet.

But the person who told me that there were three locations also said you need to complete an application for the lottery for each location individually.

I've never heard of three locations for GTCHS - from their "About Us" section on their website:

"Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) is a small charter school located in Greenville, SC that resides on the main campus of Greenville Technical College, which is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the state of South Carolina."

Oh, I think I misunderstood what the other Mom said...there are three locations for the college and I think her son takes some college level classes. Sorry!

There must be more than one campus, since we know two girls that attend the Greer one.

Nope. We know for a fact that the Greer campus is held in modular trailers behind G'ville Tech

Isn't the one that meets at the Simpsonville Campus called Brashier Middle College Charter High School, and the one that meets at the main campus Greenville Tech Charter High? I'm not positive, but I think they are 2 separate/different schools.

This is baffling. I know nothing about Brashier - I'm nearly sure that Greenville Technical Charter High School is only housed on the Barton Campus of Greenville Tech. We need some expert opinion - doesn't "greenvillebuckeye" work for the school system?
