Parts of San Souci are not bad. Avoid Berea HS.

San Souci, immediately west of Cherrydale Point along East Blue Ridge Drive (SC-253), is a good area. It is mostly a mill village without the mill. Most houses were constructed around the 1940s, maybe earlier. I would also look into Buxton, behind Hillandale Plaza off Poinsett Highway.

The Berea community has several good neighborhoods. Berea Forest off Watkins Road and Westcliff off White Horse Road are notable communities. I would not recommend residing off Cedar Lane Road (SC-183) from the Center West shopping center to West Blue Ridge Drive. This stretch of road and immediate area has developed a negative reputations with homicides at nightclubs and nightclubs shutting down for crowds uncontrolled.

I will also advise looking around Furman University, such as Duncan Chapel Road, Old Buncombe Road and Roe Ford Road.

You generally can't go wrong looking at places that are only a short drive to Whole Foods Market. I would think, according to articles like this, "The Whole Foods Effect" can increase property values anywhere from a few to 20%.

Are they building a WF on the north side of Greenville? If not, what does it have to do with Berea and San Souci? I heard WH is just a part of Agenda 21.
